Another week and this month will be gone. Didn’t get as much accomplished as I wanted, but that’s normal for me. Between my muse and my ADD I rarely get things done on a schedule. With the snow you’d think I’d get a lot of writing done since I was somewhat shut-in. But no. I did more reading. And of fanfiction not a book. I see a pretty fan pic of a story and I just have to see what it’s about. I’m hopeless. 🙂

I did get some writing done. One WIP will be finished by the April deadline. Might not be the one you’re waiting for or wanting but I will have one book out by May.

For the cover this month I did the werewolf clan one. In case it’s the one that gets finished. It’s a bit of a shifter romance so the cover has that type of look. With what is going on with Ukraine I may be out a designer. Next month I’m going to try and get 2 covers done. Or more if I can squeeze out some money. If I get my money. Things are up in the air right now with everything.

Anyone have good vampire names? Still lookin’.

The ferals were upset with the snow we had this week. It was deep enough that they were sinkin’ and draggin’ through it. After we make some tracks they did their business in the tracks and we had to be careful where we stepped. But the disgusted look on their faces when they had to plow through the snow was hilarious.

Well, my tea is gone and I have to check on the ferals before nightfall, put a little food out. Stay tune for the next installment.

February 2025

It’s my birth month already. Seems like 2024 just zoomed right on by. But I’m havin’ the feeling these next few years are going to seem endless. I just hope we see the other end.

My muse jumped ship again. She’s working on a WIP that’s way down the list like the Fallborn story. She’s just hopping around right now. I will get one of my WIPs done by April’s deadline. But which one? I don’t know. I have 5 of them open, two of which are novellas. So one will be finished by the deadline.

The five are by the way The Dragon Mistress–a Fallborn book, Deadly Sea–Elemental Voice Companion book, Remnant–book 3 of Ghostwolf, Blood Singer–a werewolf clan book, and A Field of Bones–book 2 of Bone Whisperer. Sea, Remnant, and Field are in the top five of my queue but Singer and Mistress were in the bottom ranks. However my muse decided it wanted to work on them soo…

The werewolf clan books by the way are stand-alones like the Fallborn but set in the same place with some of the same people showing up. They are way down the list below the Fallborn books. They are not related to the Ghostwolf books at all. Completely different ‘universe’.

I plan to do at least one cover this month. I just have to decide which one. It will be one of the WIPs I have open I’m sure. Only two of them have covers so I have 3 to chose from. Better than randomly choosing one from the queue.

The younger ferals don’t like the rain we’ve been having, and they definitely didn’t like the snow we had last month. But the older ones were blahzy about the snow, however they don’t like the rain either. I don’t blame them about the rain as it messes up their fur. The snow though that was funny watching the younger ones. The looks they had and the way they pawed around trying not to sink. Hillarious. By the way we only had six inches so no hazard to them.

I’m still looking for vampire names. I have 2 novellas and 1 main book to get out in the Elemental Voice serieses. The Wedding is coming up soon and we will meet and greet a number of Orro clan vampires. So if you want to name a vampire leave a comment, email, dm, whatever. Names always give me trouble. Some of my characters come with names and full personalities, but others have no names and just a basic personality until I figure out the name, then Bam…Suddenly everything comes together on that character.

January 2

Middle of the month and I’m not as far along as I wanted with my WIP. And my muse is cheating with another story. I had three stories open but she didn’t want to work on any of them. She hopped to a story that’s way down the list, scheduled for like 2028 or so. One of my Fallborn dragon stories to be precise. Since my WIP and the Fallborn story are both novellas maybe I can get them both done by April. I’ll see if I can corral my muse enough to do so.

I’m not doing a cover. I didn’t manage my money well this month and I haven’t decided which cover to do anyway. I have soo many books in my queue. What’s in my queue is only like 1/1000th of what I have ideas written down for. Then there’s the ones still in my head that are just snippets. That’s why I don’t understand when a writer says they don’t know what to write or haven’t an idea. I have thousands.

My book A Playground of Bones is scheduled for April in the book club I belong to. Some of the books scheduled are not my cup of tea but I’ll read them. Maybe they’ll expand my horizon.

My half glass of tea is done so I think I’ll end here. Got a bit of email to catch up on then I’ll go check on the Ferals. I might have to give them a bit more dry food since it’s been cold today. Stay tuned for the next installment.

January 2025

It’s the new year already. 2024 seemed to fly on by. Now we get to see what the new year brings.

The Time-Lost book is out on Amazon. I’m moving on to the next book in the queue, novella 3 of the Elemental Voice Companion series. Book 3 of Ghostwolf is the writer’s block book this time instead of Bone Whisperer 2. I need to get Ghostwolf out as well. I have a feeling though that I’ll be working on all three of them. My muse never does exactly what I want.

When I say writer’s block book, I mean a book I work on when I get stuck on the main book. If my muse decides she doesn’t want to work on the main book I open the block book and see if she’ll work on it. Usually she does, at least a bit.

I only did the one cover this last month. I wasn’t settled on which cover I wanted to do next. I need to figure that out and get it done this month. Staying ahead is nice. Hopefully the company that does them for me will still be there in the new year. Ukraine is still up in the air.

The evenings and mornings have been chilly and the ferals have been cuddling in cat piles, either in a leaf pile or in a cat house. I’ve been feeding them extra on the boards in the mornings and evenings. During the day the young ones romp around while the older ones lay in the sun.

Joined a book club. My book is slated for either March or April. I can’t remember. I’ll look up the schedule later. Already started on this month’s book, a coming of age set in the 1960’s. Has a soda fountain area mentioned in it. Our local pharmacy had an old time soda fountain in it when I was a kid and this book brought about some good memories of ice cream and chats at the counter. I was sad when they reneuvated the pharmacy and took out the foutain when I was a teen. Not many places to go in a small town to hang out. But that was probably why they took it, too many kids hanging around. And it probably wasn’t profitable enough.

Just finished my glass of tea so I think I’ll wrap this up here. One more check of my email then I think I’ll go outside and check on the ferals, about time for a feeding since I feed them early. Stay tuned for the next installment

December 2

Christmas is 11 days away then comes the new year a week after. 19 days after that comes the incoming pres. I just hope everyone is ready for what’s going to happen. Gonna be a surprise to a lot of people.

Got one book cover done. Now I just got to decide which cover I want to do next. I have enough funds to do an easy cover, one with only 2 to 3 images. Or I can use that small fund elsewhere. I have 5 covers done so far. The company I use as I have said is in the Ukraine and I don’t know what the new year will bring for them.

The Time-Lost book proof arrived. It looks good. Hopefully the book will be out this month and I will have met my goal of at least 2 books a year pubbed. As soon as it’s published I can crack down on writing book 3 of the Elemental Voice companion series.

Newsletter went out. Already working on the next. Diggin’ up bones for it as it were. Gotta few pics of the ferals rompin’ around. Most oranges are male but most of the ones we have here are female and we have a few brindles as well. I’ll snap some more pics of course. The ferals are just so dang cute.

Just finished my glass of tea so I think I’ll wrap this up here. One more check of my email then I think I’ll go outside and check on the ferals, about time for afternoon feeding. Stay tuned for the next installment

December 2024

December is here already and Christmas just 24 days away. Then 7 days after that the new year. A lot changes are going to be happening after that. I just hope I stay afloat.

Anyway it’s been cool and damp in the mornings and the ferals have been scarfing down food. At least the older ones have been. The younger ones have been scamping around, playing a lot. Once it gets colder I’m sure the younger ones will be scarging down with the older ones. And they’ve all been sleeping in cat piles. The younger ones stir when I dish out the food, the older ones are usually waiting by the boards. But they all got that ‘just woke up’ look. So adorable.

My budget is looking like I can do 2 covers this month, maybe 3, depending on the price per cover. That will be up to 6 covers in my cover queue. As I said the company that does my covers is in Ukraine so I don’t know what’s going to happen with them in the new year.

I’ve been writing a bit but haven’t knuckled down. Book 3 of Elemental Voice Companion is next and I’ll get serious with it once the Time-Lost book is out. It’s with my publishing coordinator. I’d like it to be out this month but she’s very busy. I’m messing around with EV book bibles as well to refresh my memory on who is who with the secondary characters. It’s easy to forget things when you’ve been writing in other serieses for a while. But sometimes you need a break and time to think things over. Not to mention my muse is fickle. She works on her schedule not mine most of the time.

I’m working on the next newsletter. It’s going to come out earlier than the others as that would be too close to Christmas. I have an in-person event on the 6th and will include a snapshot of it in this next newsletter. And that will be the last event of the year. Next year I don’t have one until April or May I think, if I’m accepted.

November 2

Well, the month is almost over. December is just around the corner and Christmas will be upon us. The new year is coming whether we like it or not. And there’s gonna be big changes. People wanted change, well they’re gonna get it though not in the way they’re gonna really like it.

Enough doomsaying.

It’s been windy and cool for the month and the younger ferals are still being frisky while the older ones are taking advantage of the laying in the sun. Once Winter fully gets here the older ones will be hibernating between feedings unless we have a balmy 40 degree sunny day.

The cover of book 3 of the Elemental Voice Companion series is done. So I have a total of 4 covers done for the next 5 books I’m working on. Next month I’ll do some more covers. ’cause you never know what’s gonna happen in the new year with the company I’m using. They’re based in Ukraine.

I rearranged my writing queue a bit as I said I would. However I didn’t change too much. Book 3 of EVC series is first on the list to get done, then book 2 of Bone Whisperer, book 1 Of Gods and Curses, book 3 of Ghostwolf, and finally book 5 of Elemental Voice. They are subject to more rearranging, but those are the next 5 in the queue. Then I have arranged the next 5 after them, but left the rest. I try to do one T.L. book, then one Tina book so whichever series you follow you don’t have to wait too long. My muse however is fickle.

My newsletter went out this month. This is my second newsletter. Hopefully I get good stats with this one like I did last month.

Not quite cold enough for a cuppa so I’ll pour myself a glass of ice tea and surf the web a bit. Maybe check out a few of my fellow writers’ blogs or a couple of YouTube videos. Stay tuned for the next installment.

November 2024

November is here already. This year seemed to zip right past me. Didn’t get done what I wanted done. But that’s okay. I’m not going to sweat it. They’ll get done in the new year.

I’ve been seeing these GLP-1 ads all over the place. I ordered a bottle. Let’s see if they’ll do anything for this body. I can’t seem to lose weight no matter what I do. Is it truly hormones or is it my lazy writing lifestyle? We shall see.

Meanwhile the younger ferals have been enjoying the cooler days and running around while the older ones have been basking in the sun. They’ve all been cleaning up the boards of food. I added an extra feeding time. They’ll need the extra food, especially once it gets cold. The older ferals don’t catch much during the Winter or really go out hunting. There’s a lot of cat piles during the next 5 months under cover. They don’t miss a feeding.

Book 3 of the Elemental Voice companion series is up next for writing as is Book 2 of Bone Whisperer. The cover of BW2 is done but I need to order EVC3’s cover. Book 5 of Elemental Voice’s cover is done. I just have to write the book now.

I need to go through my writing queue again and prioritize the books again to make sure I’m getting what I need done. I have soo many books to write. I don’t understand when a writer says they don’t have any idea what to write about. I have a tote full of pages and pages of ideas and chapters of books. That’s not to mention what’s on the computer or in the journal by my bed. I just wish I was a faster writer. But it takes 6-8 months for me to write a book because my muse is fickle. That or it’s my ADD. I can’t be sure. 🙂 They both like squirrels.

I’m gonna grab a glass of iced tea and surf through social media for a while. Still too warm for a cuppa but I’m stocked for a bit incase a cold snap happens. Stay tuned for the next installment.

Halloween is almost here. As I said before if I was living in a house I’d be having a party. Decorations indoors and out. Candy for kids and adults. I’d be dressed up either as a werewolf or a vampire or maybe even alternate. I love Halloween. But alas I am not my own master, none of us really are anymore.

I got the skirting up around my trailer, part of Winterizing the place. I’ll have to check it periodically to insure it’s as air tight as possible to keep most of the cold out from underneath my trailer, from freezing my pipes/water. We still got things to do though before the really cold weather sets in. We may have a semi-warm fall like we did last year before the cold snap.

The ferals are being frisky with the cooler weather. We got a batch of kittens running around plus the ones born this past summer. While the younger ones play around the older ones look on with what looks like a jaded eye. They know what the cooler weather means.

My newsletter went out yesterday. It was just a short and sweet one as it was the first. I glanced at the numbers and it looks okay so far. Thirty some percent opened and only 3 unsubscribed so far. I’m told that’s not bad.

Just got the proof for the cover of book 2 of the Elemental Voice companion series. Looks good. I plan to have them up soon. Almost done with revamping my covers. I got the cover for the Time-Lost book and for the next book, Book 2 of Bone Whisperer. Book 3 of EV companion series, Book 3 of Ghostwolf, and Book 1 of Of Gods and Curses is next up for covers as they are next in the queue. But my muse is fickle. So who knows what’s next really.

This Winter I should catch up with all my Vellas and get some book writing done. All that indoor time should do something, don’t you think? 🙂

October 2024

October is here and Halloween will soon be upon us. There is something in us that likes the thrill of horror in movies and books, that jolt of fear and anticipation–As long as it is only in movies or books.

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. We can let ourselves go. Let that creature inside us out for a bit. And the candy isn’t bad either. 🙂 As an adult I don’t get to indulge as much any more, except in books and movies. There’s no Halloween parties for adults here. That doesn’t mean there aren’t spectacular Halloween decorated houses around but no parties–unless it is for children. If I ever get a house, large enough to host, I’m going to have a Halloween party, even if no one else shows up, every year. For both adults and kids.

Time to Winterize my trailer and get things situated before the cold gets here. The cool mornings are nice change from the Summer heat and humidity. But Winter in the Ozarks is not very nice at all. The old adage about waiting 5 minutes if you don’t like the weather is very true here. Morning can start out nice but by afternoon you can have harsh conditions. The opposite can happen but rarely. Usually if the day starts harsh it stays harsh, sun shining or not. However we don’t get the snow fall that the Northern states get which I’m happy about. I’m hoping for a mild Winter this year. While I like the time indoors to get writing done I do get cabin fever. Winter is not the best time to go for a spontaneous walk.

This month is also the start of my newsletter. With some help it is actually going to be reality. I had put it off because I am such a Luddite. Computers are still mostly a mystery to me and the internet is like magic. Hopefully everything goes well.

Cover for book 2 of Bone Whisperer is getting worked on. That’s the next book after the Time-Lost book as well as Book 3 of the Elemental Voice Companion series to be worked on. I need to redo the covers for the EV companion series. The ones on now don’t match the EV ones. So that’s next on my author agenda.

Vella has seemed to fallen by the wayside. I’m still working on some of the stories there but they are not priority. Since the changes Vella has not been very good to me. Of course I haven’t been promoting it much either or updating it much so that could be why. But there are still good stories on there that I want to get out and I will. Just not as urgently.
