A Tat

25,182 words so far for Bone Whisperer book 1. So either 1/3 or 1/2 done depending on what my muse is wanting to do with this story. The villain’s minion is revealed while the true villain is only hinted at so far in the book. However both are lose and free to wreck more havoc for now. Got a bit of a twist coming. Don’t think anyone will see it coming though. Just got to figure out how my muse wants me to pull it off as she’s only doling out bits and pieces. Hopefully she’ll show me the way.

Now that warmer weather has been happening I’ve been busy outside. There’s always things to do outside when the weather’s warm. Dad has ‘projects’ for us to do. So my prime writing time is winding down and I’ll have to snatch time to write. I’m fitting in time now as much as I can before that happens since I want to get Bone done before June but I’m afraid I’ll miss that deadline. But I want to at least get it out this year. I had also planned to get Ghostwolf 3 out but… I think that may not happen.

I may however get some more new covers out. However since my new covers have been on my Elemental Voice books I haven’t sold a one. Don’t know what that says–yet. I’ll give it a little while while I get new covers for my other books.

Meanwhile I keep working on Bone.

Stay tuned.

New Covers

The new covers for the books of Elemental Voice are now up.

I plan to do the two novellas as well. And my other books are also up for redoing. Now that I found a reasonably priced cover designer I want to put the covers I really want on my books instead of making due. I’m not very tech savvy nor am I rich enough to do professional covers on my own. And no I can’t ‘save up’ enough for a cover costing over $100. Some of us are on fixed incomes and live paycheck to paycheck. But I’ve found one that I can afford for now if I don’t mind hard sacrifices.

On to a better subject. I am working on book 1 of Bone Whisperer. I’m about 1/3 of the way done. I want to have it done before the June conference. However my muse is fickle and plans mean nothing to her. I wrote 2,000 words last week and over 500 so far. This being book 1 I have to set everything up and that’s taking time. I’m trying to keep the pacing moving along and not add too much info dumps. First books in a series are a balancing act. I hope I’m balancing well.

Just a Jot

With as much as Ravens feature in my books you’d think they are my favorite or something. They are not, but they do come up in a lot of folklore. From Norse mythology to the most obscure folk tale I’ve found they have played a role. So I took them and bits from many old tales and put them in my Bone Whisperer and Ghostwolf series. Crows and Ravens have companied many a soothsayer/oracle/psychic in the tales I’ve found so they were a natural, even over cats. Which are my favorite by the way. I will write a series with cats, but for now it is Ravens.

My characters are not witches in these two series, though that accusation has been hurled at one. My FMC in the Elemental Voice series could be considered one or psychic depending on your point of view. But the MCs in Bone Whisperer and Ghostwolf do not use ‘magic’ per se. However you will have to read the books to find out what they do use. 🙂

So the cats will get their day or series as be of their own. But the Ravens rule for now.

Wind Whisperer

Book 4 of Elemental Voice is live!

Up next is Book 1 of Bone Whisperer and Book 3 of Ghostwolf.

I am also working on a book for Vella on Amazon.

I want to have either Bone Whisperer or Ghostwolf done before June so I have two new books for the Writer’s Conference this year. So my deadline is end of March, meaning I need to get in gear. Neither book is more than a 1/3 of the way done. But my muse is fickle and she does as she pleases.

Covers for Book 1 and Book 2 of Elemental Voice should be up soon. They are done and waiting in the wings for time to be found to be put up.

Stay tuned.

Book 4 of Elemental Voice is done!

It’s been sent off.

On to the next two books in the queue.

Book 3 of Ghostwolf and Book 1 of Bone Whisperer are up next for this year. Both are already started and have at least one chapter done. Winter is my prime writing time so I’m hoping to have at least one of them done by March. Both if possible. I have a novella for EV I want to do this year as well, Deadly Waters, that will complete the EV companion series.

I plan to redo the covers of the EV books and perhaps others. I want to make them more to market but keep my aesthetic. No scantily clad women in sexy action pose or half nakked men, romance or no romance.

Stay tuned

The New Year

Hopefully this year is better than last year. Both in personal and professional ways.

I did make more royalties last year than I have before as well as sold quite a few books at the few in-person events I went to. I wish I could go to more in-person events as I make more at them than I do online but there are few near me and I don’t have a car. 2022 saw a few improvements like a new website and a few months where my royalties went up. This year I plan to increase them more by changing some covers so they’re more to market. And hopefully my writing coach will have more suggestions for me to help make this a more profitable year.

Book 4 of Elemental Voice is about done. One more chapter to go. The cover is done and I’ve started on the blurb. I plan to have it published by the end of January, depending on editing/proofreading. First of the three books I want to pub this year.

May this year be successful for you as well

Year in review & Goals

Well, the year is almost over. Soo the year in review.

1. Published an Elemental Voice companion novella January

2. Published Book 2 of Ghostwolf May

3. Published a novella prequel June

4. Published an EV Box Set

I got one more thing to do this year and that’s to finish book 4 of Elemental Voice, though it’s turning out to be a novella. 4 stories published this year, not bad. I try to publish at least two books a year, one under each name. This year I was a little heavy under Tina, but I did get Ghostwolf 2 out under T.L.

Already have some goals set for next year. Not too ambitious but enough to keep me busy. I want to have EV 4, Ghostwolf 3, and Bone Whisperer 1 out next year. I also want the covers of EV redone and out. There is also another new story that is itching to be out soon. Don’t know if I’ll get to it in 2023 or not. And the 3rd dragon book needs to be out in 2024.

Then there’s the in-person events I want to go to this coming year.

So as I said busy. 🙂

The End is Near

It’s December already.

The year seemed to have flown by. And the deadline for Book 4 of Elemental Voice is just literally days away. I still have a lot to do before the end of this month, year. The sands keep flowing, shifting, bringing the end closer. It’s the Twilight of the year.

Recorded an interview with my writing coach for her UT author interview program. Don’t know when it will be aired. Gonna do another when Book 4 comes out. I’ll try to keep you in the loop on that.

Going to send off my idea from a cover for Book 4 to Getcovers(dot)com. The other covers of the series are going to be redone as well–If I like Book 4 cover. I’m probably gonna retool my other covers, at least some of them. So stay tuned.

Box Set is Live!

Got the revised cover back and liked it so I sent it to my publisher. And she uploaded and published the Elemental Voice box set! Ahead of schedule!

Also my writing coach is going to do an interview with me. So I can market my box set on her show.

Still working on Book 4 of Elemental Voice series. Definitely think it’s going to be a 100-125 page novella. Rounding the bend into the homestretch, though there might be another little twist coming. My muse is giving me that cagey smile of hers when I ask questions.
